Nov 08, Colombo: Tissamaharama village in Sri Lanka's deep south was in chaos again today as two more bodies of slain farmers were found this morning.
The farmers were hacked to death at a ‘chena’, a rain-fed farm in Osuvinna.
The slain farmers were identified as R.M. Abeywardhena (55) and G.M. Padmasiri (54) of Kudagammanathenna of Weerahena.
Three farmers were found hacked to death similarly on Tuesday from a nearby area. The Police and security forces are conducting search operations in the area and Tamil rebels are under suspicion. Meanwhile, Police posts have been established in several places in the area.
The Security Forces and the Police request that the people living in the area to stay in their village without moving out until the completion of search operations.
